Drivers who love their cars can now take their obsession to another level with the launch of a new household scent that smells like gasoline.
To help oil enthusiasts who love the smell of gasoline but fear it might be a bit extreme to drag a can of unleaded around their living room, candle maker Cozy Owl has included the unusual scent oil in its product line for 2020.
The particular scent is added to more traditional options such as strawberry, mint, and cedarwood after the brand asked the public for their favorite scents that are usually not part of the standard ranges.
To make it clear why you shouldn’t base your business decisions on social media polls, the company gathered suggestions and then conducted an online survey to find the country’s favorite unusual odor.
The intoxicating smell of 95 RON came out on top, with 45% of participants voting for gasoline, ahead of the more mundane orange blossom (26%) and prosecco (21%). Cow manure (six percent) and Andrex green toilet paper wrap round out the top five, proving the British public should never be asked for their opinion.
Richard Fewings, Managing Director of Cozy Owl, commented on the results: “When choosing our 2020 product line, we wanted to get the public’s opinion on which fragrances they would most like to see introduced. We were looking for original scents to add to our line, and as essence was voted as the most desirable scent, it will now be added to our line as a new fragrance oil. You don’t have to be an oil enthusiast to be a fan of this unusual scent.
Although it has the familiar scent of the fuel tank, the manufacturer of the product insists that the oil is perfectly safe to use around the house. It is not as flammable as gasoline and acts like any other scent oil.
And as strange as it may sound to make your home smell like a gas station, it’s nothing compared to Gwyneth Paltrow’s last wheezing.
